This is another one of our near life size Bronze sculptures. This Bronze sculpture is of Diana (The Huntress). The bronze sculpture of Diana was cast using the lost wax method. All of our Bronze sculptures are true Bronzes. To be considered a true Bronze. A Bronze sculpture must at least 75% copper. The Patinas on this Bronze sculpture are put on the sculpture by various types of acids. That produce different colors. As the acids react with the copper. The Patina is actually an oxidized film that protects and preserves the sculpture. The patina is what makes bronze sculpture age very, very slowly. Many of you may recognize this famous statue "The Bather" by Allegrain. This is another one of our imported statues from Italy. The bather statue has been left here in her original white form. As that is the color of the original. Most classical statuary looks best in a white, off white or aged stone look. As we tend to associate Classical statuary with white Marble and antiquity.

This Pegasus statue is also from Italy. This Pegasus statue is also made from bonded marble. How-ever this type of bonded marble is different than the type we have seen earlier. This type of bonded marble used on this Pegasus statue is made from Carra Marble dust and a clear casting resin. The Marble dust is so fine that it allows the mix to flow into the fine crevices in the mold allowing for great detail. This type of bonded Marble statuary has the highest level of detail. The type of detail is most noted around the eyes and faces of the statuary piece.
