This statue of Hebe was also imported from Italy. Hebe is the cupbearer to the gods and is the goddess of youth and spring. Her name
literally means youth. She is the daughter of Zeus and Hera, the sister of Ares (god of War) and Eileithyia (goddess of Childbirth), and the
wife of Hercules. This Hebe statue is a great garden accent statue and looks fantastic with creeping vines. She is pictured here in our gallery
with vines growing on her with an old stone finish. Other finishes are available for this piece as well. We have a large selection of Greek gods
and goddesses statues such as Diana, Apollo, Venus, Zeus and Poseidon as well as many statues of Greek and Roman rulers. They come in many
different mediums, sizes and finishes that work for both indoor and outdoor use. If you have any questions
please contact us, we love to help our customers find the perfect piece!

This fantastic sculpture is made from cast Lucite. Lucite is a clear liquid form that is cast into a mold with a positive figure
image on the back side. When the Lucite hardens it is removed from the mold revealing a negative image. This negative image is sandblasted
and then air brushed with a gold color. This results in a fantastic 3-D sculpture of a woman that is very elegant and contemporary.
Be sure to check out our section of Lucite statues and sculptures.

This statue of Venus de Milo is another one of our imported bonded marble statues from Italy which comes to us all white.
The aged or antiqued look was done in our studio to give the statue more depth. If bonded marble was left outside to weather it would eventually take
on the look shown here, but if displayed indoors the statue would remain all white.
Venus de Milo was carved by Alexandros from Antioch. It is believed to depict Aphrodite (Venus to the Romans) the Greek goddess of love and beauty.
A fragment of the forearm and the hand holding an apple was discovered near the larger part of the statue. He thus presented Aphrodite (Venus) as the
goddess of the Apple Island, since milos means "apple" in Greek. Legend has it that Milos was the first person sent to the island
by the goddess Venus. It is speculated that Venus de Milo might have held her garment in her other hand. It is at present on display at
the Louvre Museum in Paris.
