| We have three lighted pedestal lines to choose from. The Planate, the Verge and the Vantage lines of pedestals. |
The Planate Lighted Pedestal Line
The Planate Pedestal Line is laminated in one color without wood trim and is meant to have a simple design.
The Verge Lighted Pedestal Line
The Verge Pedestal Line is trimmed with molding at the top and bottom of the pedestal. Finish colors are chosen to match the laminate used. Other choices for
customizing are available upon request. |
The Vantage Lighted Pedestal Line
The Vantage Pedestal Line is trimmed along the sides as well as the top and bottom, giving the lighted pedestal a complete and finished look. We have chosen this method of finishing the wood trim instead of traditional stain for two reasons; there are so many types and shades of stain it is difficult to match personal decor, wood stained trim distracts from the art work displayed on the lighted pedestal. Matching the trim to the laminate covering allows the lighted pedestal to look complete without distracting from the art work that sits on the pedestal. |

We use Formica brand laminate on our pedestal's as it has been around many years and is one of the highest quality laminates on the market. Another good thing about a brand name like formica is that is is a standard at most building centers such as Home Depot or Lowes. If you find a laminate finish you prefer we can customize your lighted pedestal. There are many choices available and if you would like a custom built pedestal please visit our Custom Pedestal page or contact us for information. |
| We have chosen a medium base bulb socket, (standard bulb size) as our standard socket. This makes bulb replacement easy. We recommend the spiral florescent bulb for our larger pedestals, one is included with each pedestal. We have found that the 13 watt (60 watts of light) daylight bulb is the best wattage and light spectrum for most sculptures. However, every sculpture is different and more or less wattage may be necessary. We do however recommend that if an incandescent light bulb is used, the wattage should not exceed 60 watts as they produce more heat making them a possible fire hazard.

| Our lighted pedestals come with a 1/4 inch frosted glass top which is scratch resistant and easy to clean. The glass top can be easily removed using a piece of masking or duct tape to pull up one side of the glass. |

Light and Shadow
Light on a statue or sculpture can change its look dramatically as the light is cast up from the bottom and creates shadows the sculpture takes on more depth. The sculptures facial expressions and emotion are now much more dramatic. The color spectrum of light that is used will make a difference as well. Your pedestal was designed to take a standard base bulb of the spiral florescent type. Different bulbs with different color spectrums can be chosen to match your sculpture.

This bust and Pieta sculpture have both been illuminated by a warm 13W spiral florescent bulb. Both of these sculptures are pure white and the warmer yellow light keeps them from being washed out by the light source. |

Cut glass vase and multi colored art glass vase using daylight bulbs. Daylight bulbs work best with glass as they require brighter light. This also prevents the colors from being altered by the light source. |
A warm spiral bulb was used in this lighted pedestal for this all white statue of Venus De Milo. |
This meditation statue was lighted using a daylight spiral bulb. This statue is not pure white but has brown and gray in it. |
This statue of Michael the Archangel capturing the devil is a pure white bonded marble sculpture. We chose a daylight bulb to highlight the deeper under cuts in this sculpture. |
For this Lucite sculpture we used a daylight spiral bulb. Greater white light is needed to illuminate this type of sculpture. This sculpture is crystal clear and was designed to be displayed on a lighted pedestal. |
